Skip, Dash, Flow - the return

Wonderbrass will once again be collaborating with jazz saxophonist and composer Jason Yarde to reprise the 2012 composition Skip, Dash, Flow as part of the Programme for New Music Biennial 2022.

New Music Biennial 2022 will comprise 20 new pieces of music: ten brand new works selected from an open call and ten pre-existing New Music Biennial works from across the last 10 years to mark its launch back in 2012 for New Music 20x12.

New Music 20×12 was a UK-wide programme which consisted of twenty outstanding new works, each lasting 12 minutes, commissioned to feature centre stage of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

Jazz composer and hip-hop impresario Jason Yarde created the exciting, dynamic composition which takes audiences and players alike on a cultural voyage, following the Olympics from Beijing, through London in 2012 and on to the next port of call, Rio de Janeiro. The piece trades a multitude of musical moods, styles and themes.

We are thrilled to have the chance to revisit this challenging and exciting piece of music and to be once again part of such a huge cultural experience.
